Melissa Ramirez is the Director of Special Education and joined the staff of Young Learners in 2004. Melissa’s background includes fifteen years of experience in education, five of these years as an instructor in special education with an emphasis in developing and implementing special education programs and services for Alternative Education programs. Melissa has also worked extensively as a teacher in elementary and secondary grade levels. Melissa holds teaching certifications in both Special Education and English as a Second Language.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies, and has attended courses towards a Master of Arts in Education from Houston Baptist University. Melissa is fluent in Spanish.
