Janelle James is the Chief Operating Officer of Young Learners. Janelle joined the Young Learners staff in 2004 and brings with her over thirty years experience as a public school educator, principal and central office administrator, and most recently as the Director of Charter School Initiatives for Houston ISD. Janelle is well respected nationally for her expertise in charter school approval processes, contract development, school oversight, institutional expertise with curriculum implementation, and operational experience with compliance. She has been interviewed extensively as an expert by the media, and by the Texas Legislature.
Janelle received her Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Texas State University, and a Master of Education degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Janelle has presented to the following groups: Texas Association of School Administrators, Texas Administration of School Attorney, and the National Head Start Conference.
