Katherine Armstrong has eight years of experience in working with English language learners in the elementary and secondary level. She earned a BA degree in Education and Foreign Languages from the University of Costa Rica She holds a Bilingual-Spanish EC-4 teaching certificate and Reading Language Arts 4-12. Ms. Armstrong joined Young Learners School in 2003 as a bilingual teacher until in 2004, when she became the Education Specialist. Ms. Armstrong mentored Pre-kindergarten teachers in their classrooms and is now currently the Multilingual Coordinator for Young Learners School and Southwest Schools. She is also pursuing a MA degree in Education at HBU and an Educational Diagnostician certification. Ms. Armstrong has presented several times at the NAEYC Annual Conference, the Houston Area AEYC Conference, and the Region VI Head Start Association on language development and second language acquisition. |
