Minerva Perez is a Community Advocate and is currently a part of the Young Learners advisory board. She is the former longtime news anchor at KTRK TV/ABC 13. She left her position as an award winning journalist in 2007. Minerva has covered amazing stories from Pope John Paul II’s visit to the US, to Rodney King, to Presidents Reagan and Bush.
She has won many national and local awards. She is extremely involved in the community, serving on various boards, including the Mayor’s Council on Literacy: The Houston Read Commission, they Children’s Assessment Center, and the Advisory Council of the Women’s Resource Center of Greater Houston. She is a dedicated member of this community.
