Young Learners School will sponsor candidates for H1B visas, if visas are available from the U.S. government. The school works with an immigration attorney, who will review applicant credentials.

Requirements

  1. Foreign Credential Translation
The applicant must have their college transcript evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Please refer to translation services such as SpanTran or Global Credential Evaluators.
  2. Enroll in an Alternative Certification Program
The applicant must enroll in a state approved ACP program (alternative certification program for teachers). Visit State Board for Educator Certification for a list of approved ACP programs in the Houston area.
  3. Successful Completion of TExES Test(s)
The applicant must pass the following TExES tests in order to be considered for employment:
    - Bilingual Generalist EC-4 OR
    - Generalist EC-4 AND Bilingual Education Supplemental EC-4

Application

The applicant may then submit copies of their degree translation, proof of enrollment in an ACP program, and copies of test scores to:

Young Learners School
3333 Bering Drive
Suite 100
Houston, TX 77057

If the school has openings in bilingual education, the candidate will be contacted for an interview. If the interview is successful, the candidate will be referred to the immigration attorney, who will determine if the applicant is a viable candidate for H1B sponsorship. If the attorney recommends the applicant for visa processing, the applicant will be offered a position with Young Learners.

Please refer to the "Application Process for Professional Employment Immigration Candidates" PDF for more details on H1B applications and a checklist.*
